so of course! You have religion on Second Life. To wit:

…As a part of my ongoing research into the role of religion in virtual worlds, I have set up a survey. It is essentially the same as an earlier survey profiled by Wagner James Au in his blog, the New World Notes. I maintained that original survey for only a brief period in order to get preliminary results but I am now re-running the survey for a longer period and hope to get at least several hundred, and preferably several thousand, respondents. Even if you already took the shorter survey, I would appreciate it if you would take this one.

If you are a resident of Second Life, I ask that you take the survey and forward the link to your friends in-world (regardless of their religious practices or beliefs). The more respondents I receive, the more accurate will be the conclusions I can draw from the survey ….MORE….

Personally, such a thing kinda sorta gives me the willies. What’s going to be next, will your avatars be kidnapped if you’re not of the ‘right’ religion and sent to the Spanish Inquisition? Or will a new religion create their own Montségur , only to be exterminated by the ruling religion?
